Health and Safety Assistant

Working in support of a Chartered Heath and Safety professional, you will be involved in the provision of a comprehensive health and safety support service working to ensure that the force maintains compliance with all its obligations. The role offers the individual the opportunity to work in a great team within a challenging and fascinating environment. You will have experience in providing practical health and safety advice, conducting risk assessments across a variety of work environments, carrying out inspections, researching and delivering solutions to health and safety issues, preparing statistics and reports and administrating H&S information management systems. You will be involved in accident investigations, the development of policies and procedures and contractor monitoring.

With the force on track to move to a new Headquarters site in the near future the role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to join at an exciting stage for the force.

You will be qualified to NEBOSH General Certificate (NVQ Level 3) or equivalent and be working toward or have a desire to work toward NVQ Level5/6. If you are able to strike the balance between enabling our operational commitments in protecting and reassuring our communities whilst minimising risks to both our Police Officers and Staff and relish working in a supportive, interesting and challenging environment then get in touch
