The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) acts as the voice of the public on policing and crime matters. Supported by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC), the PCC is responsible for setting the strategic direction for policing within the Gwent Police area.  As Standards and Governance Officer you will play a key role in supporting the PCC in holding the Chief Constable to account for the delivery of the Police and Crime Plan priorities and their statutory responsibilities.  You will also work closely with the Professional Standards Department, reviewing complaints, undertaking dip sampling and supporting the Head of Assurance and Compliance regarding appointments to Police Misconduct Hearings.  Due to the nature of the role, you must have an understanding of how to handle sensitive information with tact and diplomacy.

This is a full-time role.  You will be expected to work flexibly with part of the week in the office.
