The Force Intelligence and Organised Crime Unit are seeking to recruit Intelligence Researchers to provide research support to our analytical teams across the force area. The successful candidate will assist Intelligence Analysts by extracting relevant data from South Wales Police systems and many other sources and representing it in both written and graphical format in order to help drive investigations across many areas of criminality.

Main duties will include the following:

• Accurately extract data and intelligence from appropriate databases. 
• Ensure that relevant data and intelligence is accurately inputted into the analytical databases used by the South Wales Police. 
• Scan and evaluate information from a wide range of open and closed information sources. 
• Research information in relation to problems, patterns, trends and series for the analyst. 
• Undertake basic data manipulation and graphical representation under the direction of the analyst.
• Produce accurate and easy to use reports of research activity.

This post is not suitable for job share/part time workers as it requires continuity due to the nature of the role.

The successful candidate must be prepared to undergo vetting to MV/SC level.
