Case Typist, North Wales Police, Salary £20,118 to £21,399 pro rata

    What does the Case Administrator / Typist role entail?

    Reporting to the Case Manager you’ll be part of the Case Management Team, providing a range of support, typing and administration services to deliver an efficient delivery of service across varying business areas and using the Niche Record Management System.

    Duties will include, but not be limited to;

    • Working to provide an administrative support to Case team including assistance with:
      • Check the contents of Prosecution Files, to ensure that all correct forms are included and liaise with submitting officer if necessary without delaying the submission of files.
      • Scanning documents and linking onto RMS as required. Review, allocate and task any additional administration and monitor the return of forms in order to notify Case Manager of any Officers who fail to comply. To allocate tasks returned from CPS as part of the Two Way Interface as required.
      • To accurately type all relevant documentation either copy typing or transcription of recorded interviews, taking into account the requirements for court proceedings.
      • Manage the transit or storage of hard copies of case file documents or media as required.
    • Undertake PNC checks in accordance with CASE File requirements for defendants or/and civilian witnesses.
    • Assist with general administration duties as required including responsibility for dealing with incoming mail etc.
    • Managing the throughput of multimedia evidence relating to pre-charge and prosecution files.

    What will I need to be considered for the Case Administrator / Typist role?

    • Fully IT literate to include excellent knowledge of Microsoft Applications and be proficient in the use of data bases. To include inputting/typing skills to at least 35wpm.
    • Clerical/administrative experience to include filing, indexing, photocopying, typing – reports, letters and memoranda – and ability to pay attention to detail.
    • The ability to liaise with external agencies and internal departments that includes communication via the telephone and in written format.
    • Proven experience of working within an administrative environment and with the ability to work well in a team environment.
    • The role is one that necessitates discretion, sensitivity, teamwork and persons who are organised and self-motivated.
    • Ability to Audio type or willingness to learn.
    • To show flexibility in being prepared, on occasions, to work elsewhere within the AJD structure.

    North Wales Police are a bilingual organisation and for this role, you’ll need to demonstrate Level 2 Spoken Welsh skills, which means you’re able to give and ask for personal details and basic information; to make simple requests and say a few phrases about yourself in Welsh.
