An opportunity has become available for a Vehicle Fleet Logistics Operative to join our fleet department here at North Wales Police on a part-time permanent contract.

What does the Vehicle Fleet Logistics Operative role entail?

Working within our Fleet department you will be responsible for the movement of vehicles including the safe and secure transport of Cars, Vans, and Motorcycles both within the force area and outside of area. You will provide a driving service for designated areas ensuring the vehicles are cleaned and maintained to a high standard and returned to their location in a presentable manner. Performing general day to day maintenance of in-house workshops keeping areas clean, safe and hazard free.

What do I need for the role of Vehicle Fleet Logistics Operative?

 

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent level of education or possess an equivalent amount of proven relevant experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The post holder will be required to drive Force vehicles including towing a trailer and driving a vehicle transporter; therefore will need to possess a minimum Category B and preferably B+E, C1+E, D1 driving license and pass the NWP driver competency test. Training can be given to achieve B+E, C1+E, D1.
  • Awareness/Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations, Control of Substance Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and Manual Handling.
  • Minor vehicle repair and maintenance skills.

North Wales Police are a bilingual organisation and for this role, you’ll need to demonstrate Level 2 Spoken Welsh skills, which means you’re able to give and ask for personal details and basic information; to make simple requests and say a few phrases about yourself in Welsh.
