North Wales Police is proud to be the Host Force for the Forensic Collision Investigation Network (FCIN) which will deliver a professional, impartial, and accredited service across England and Wales.

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the FCIN Team as an FCIN IT Service Delivery Manager.

 

You will be joining on a full-time permanent contract within an organisation that will support your success in the workplace.

The Service Delivery Manager is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the IT Services to the Forensic Collision Investigation Network (FCIN) that is a national capability being led on by North Wales Police (NWP). This includes the day-to-day operational service, as well as facilitating the transition of programmes and projects to live service to meet end user needs and maintaining responsibility for relationships across their span of control.

 

The FCIN is keen to attract the right person to this role at a pivotal time and as such is offering full flexibility for working from home to increase its appeal nationally to maximise the opportunity of attracting truly exceptional candidates.

 

What does the FCIN IT Service Delivery Manager role entail?

 

This post will report into the Head of FCIN, working closely with the FCIN core team and Forensic Collision Investigators nationally to manage infrastructure, supporting technology, vendors and stakeholders to lead the successful delivery of the wider IT services to end users. The role will also liaise with the NWP Technology Department as required.

 

You will ensure that the right tooling is in place to enable to effective automated monitoring of the FCIN IT Service both in terms of live operations, configuration, asset and licence management as well as provide reports on required management information

You will utilise reported management information to review the performance of the IT Service to ensure that it is meeting all agreed service levels. Monitor contractual KPI’s relevant to support, providing regular commentary, working with suppliers to initiate corrective actions to maintain support performance.

You will proactively assess current and future demand of the service, implementing initiatives ahead of time to provide the best services to end-users

You will evaluate and identify potential redundant applications, infrastructure and tools that could be decommissioned

 

 

What will I need to be considered for the Science – IT Service Delivery Manager Role?

You must have the experience and a strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) practices, particularly for:

  • Incident Management
  • Problem Management
  • Change Management
  • Service Level Management
  • Experience of managing IT Service Delivery including its design, transition, operation and continual service improvement, preferably within an Emergency Service or other operational time-critical service organisation that operates 24/7 – 365 days/year.
  • ITIL Certificate in Managing Across the Lifecycle or equivalent level is desirable
  • Prince2, PMP Project Management Experience or ITIL (ideally v3 or v4) is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including end-user orientation and ability to manage expectations
  • Experience working with other key internal departments such as finance, legal and procurement etc

 

  • Knowledge of IT concepts and systems
  • Ability to develop strategic plans and translate them to actionable roadmaps
  • Ability to manage risk, and encourage strategic risk management-based delivery in others to manage expectations and communicate effectively
