We have an excellent opportunity within our Technology department for a Technical Delivery Programme Manager on a full-time permanent contract with North Wales Police, with the flexibility of Hybrid working.

What does a Technical Delivery Programme Manager role entail?

Responsible to the Head of Programme and Customer services you will oversee and lead the successful delivery of integrated technology solutions to meet approved demand. Working closely with both customers and the supplier delivering the solution to effect planning, scheduling and executing the desired goals and outcomes. Providing advice and guidance to team members to ensure compliance with corporate and best practice in the delivery of technology projects and programmes meeting agreed specifications, timescales, budgets whilst creating a customer service-based approach with both stakeholders and suppliers.

We are looking for someone who has proven leadership skills with a proactive and dynamic approach, with strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.

What will I need to be considered for the Technical Delivery Programme Manager role?

  • Educated to Degree level or an equivalent professional qualification, or possess the equivalent amount of relevant experience
  • Advanced IT skills, especially in Microsoft Project, and the ability to fully utilise specialist software to aid analysis and report creation.
  • Practitioner Certificate in PRINCE2
  • Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) certification is desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience of agile project management methodologies is desirable.
  • Excellent report writing skills and oral communication/presentation skills.
  • Budgetary and financial working knowledge and experience.
  • An effective "team player" working closely with colleagues and managers at all levels within the organisation.
  • Highly developed inter-personal skills with the ability to build and maintain a comprehensive network of contacts inside and outside the Force.
  • Operate with integrity, tact and professionalism when handling sensitive data involving internal investigations
  • Self-motivated; able to work with minimal supervision, with good organisational skills and able to prioritise and meet deadlines whilst ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

North Wales Police are a bilingual organisation and for this role, you’ll need to demonstrate Level 2 Spoken Welsh skills, which means you’re able to give and ask for personal details and basic information; to make simple requests and say a few phrases about yourself in Welsh.
