Go Safe Enforcement Officer,

Here are some of the accountabilities of the Go Safe Enforcement Officer role:

  • To use and maintain speed monitoring and associated equipment in accordance with manufacturers and Partnership requirements.
  • To visit areas of speed complaint in agreement with the policy of the Wales Road Casualty Reduction Partnership (WRCRP).
  • To ensure workload is transferred to the Safety Camera Unit, at the Central Ticket Office on the day of completion.
  • To demonstrate speed detection equipment to outside organisations.
  • To report any road safety matters to the Sergeant Co-ordinator, which the post holder feels requires attention.
  • To evaluate speed detection and associated equipment on behalf of National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC) Technology Committee.
  • To attend Magistrates Court / Crown Court to give evidence in contested offences.
  • To undertake enquiries generated by the Safety Camera Unit, as part of the process of identifying and prosecuting offenders.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and general appearance of the enforcement vehicle. 

What will I need to be considered for this Go Safe Enforcement Officer role?

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of education or possess an equivalent amount of proven experience
  • The successful candidate must hold a current UK driving licence that includes category B
  •  Ability to maintain a high level of personal motivation and industry with the ability to operate on one’s own initiative.
  •  Sound knowledge of traffic legislation and procedures would be an advantage but training will be provided.
  •  Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft applications

North Wales Police are a bilingual organisation and for this role, you’ll need to demonstrate Level 2 Spoken Welsh skills, which means you’re able to give and ask for personal details and basic information; to make simple requests and say a few phrases about yourself in Welsh.
