An opportunity has arisen to join the North Wales Police Team based at Holyhead Port as a Regional Ports Liaison Officer. 

To succeed in this role we are looking for someone who is adept at building effective business relationships. A level of proven experience within Counter Terrorism Border Policing Services would also be advantageous for this role.

As part of this role there is a requirement to travel within the region to service all four Welsh forces.

Duties of the Regional Ports Liaison Officer will include, but not be limited to;

  • Ensure that key Counter Terrorism (CT) messaging and other supporting information is regularly communicated to the portal community, particularly in relation to: Insider Threat, Cash Seizures and Safeguarding.
  • Represent the Senior Ports Officer (SPO) in attending ports based partnership/business meetings where appropriate
  • Provide a single point of contact for non-urgent incidents which impact the portal community (e.g. businesses, carriers, partners);
  • Gather and submit information that has the potential to support law enforcement objectives. 

What will I need to be considered for the Regional Ports Liaison Officer role? 

  • Minimum requirement of HNC or equivalent level of proven experience within Counter Terrorism Border Policing Services
  • High levels of integrity and discretion and an ability to build trust and confidence with stakeholders.
  • Excellent Communication skills to tailor style to meet audience at all levels of the organisaton, building relationships with both internal and external customer. Confident at delivering given key messages effectively
  • Ability to work with partners collaboratively to effectively find solutions to issues
