This is an exciting new role for an individual who has experience of working in a public affairs role or community engagement. An excellent opportunity for someone who is self-motivated, well organised, and meticulous about detail that can communicate the work of the PCC here in North Wales.

If you think you have the skills and experience for this role, we would like to hear from you.

What does the Head of Communications and Engagement role entail?

In this role you will develop, implement, monitor, and provide leadership to the Communications and Engagement Strategy for the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).

As the Head of Communications and Engagement role you will ensure the PCC is fully engaged with all stakeholder groups at a national and local level, influencing strategic direction and policy implementation whilst interlinking with North Wales Police’s internal and external communications strategies, creating an overall strategy that is fully aligned to the Police and Crime Plan and statutory duties.

What will I need to be considered for the Head of Communications and Engagement role?

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or possess an equivalent amount of relevant proven work experience (e.g. community engagement role, public services).
  • Experience of corporate communications and engagement evidenced by at least 4 years’ experience working in a busy PR or public engagement environment in a complex organisation.
  • Experienced in combining media communications, issue management, corporate and social responsibility, information dissemination and strategic communications advice.
  • Ability to demonstrate influencing public policy, building and maintaining a strong reputation and finding common ground with stakeholders.  The candidate must have strong values of equality, social justice and be passionate about public services.
  • Ability to draft social media content, press releases and traditional materials to a high professional standard.

For further information about the role, and the skills you will need please see the attached Head of Communications and Engagement post profile.
