North Wales Police are looking for a motivated and committed influencer to manage their Shared Services Facility in Colwyn Bay. This is an exciting time of growth and development - ensuring that SSF functions such as policies and systems are regularly being improved according to feedback that may be received in the customer service focussed role.

You must be a leader who provides and dedicates qualitative direction to the team - for example, introducing business system processes, ensuring on-going capacity planning and maintaining adequate quality controls.

With the overall focus on continual improvement and ‘joined up delivery’ (rather than silo thinking), the post-holder will encourage and influence the behaviours of others to adopt an integrated approach. It is essential that the post-holder has the ability to think beyond immediate day to day issues.

Level 3 Welsh language skills are essential for this post. Please refer to the NWP Welsh Language Skills Policy for details on your eligibility criteria and learning commitments throughout probation.

North Wales Police is committed to being a bilingual organisation. You will therefore be expected to demonstrate a positive approach towards the Welsh Language. In accordance with the North Wales Police Welsh Language Skills Policy prior to an offer of appointment being made, if you do not already speak Welsh you will be required to achieve Level 2 in spoken Welsh. In essence this means that you can understand and pronounce Welsh place names and peoples’ names as well as an ability to understand and use simple everyday spoken Welsh phrases. All the support material required to satisfy this requirement is available on the Force Website. You will also be required to demonstrate Level 3 spoken skills during your probation period, for which you will be fully supported.

Please note the successful applicant(s) will be required to provide a 12 month commitment to this role.

Closing date: 27.01.2020

Interviews will be week commencing 17.02.2020

This is a full time post however staff members interested in job share are welcome to apply. NWP Staff within a probationary period or who are subject to a time commitment in their current role which still applies are not permitted to apply.

Applicants that have previously applied for this role and have been unsuccessful within the last 6 months are not eligible to apply.

Special Officers who have achieved Independent Patrol Status and have continued to work the minimum number of duty hours per week (4 hours) may apply for internal police staff vacancies.

Current Agency Staff with more than 12 continuous months’ service (as at publication date of advert) are permitted to apply for this vacancy.
