Fleet Technician Apprentice

We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice fleet technician to join our team to help maintain our fleet of 600 police vehicles where you will learn and develop as a vehicle technician.

We are offering a 4-year apprenticeship in Vehicle Service and Maintenance where you will receive ongoing training and support being part of the North Wales Police Service and Maintenance Team.

As part of our team, you will work in our state-of-the-art purpose-built workshop with the latest equipment, tooling and diagnostic equipment. All workshop hand tools are supplied by Fleet and specific vehicle manufacture training provided. You will also receive day release to the local college to complete your NVQ Qualification. Upon successful completion of your training and qualification, you will have the opportunity of future employment within the Fleet team or within another department.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

During the interview process we will also be conducting a practical assessment within the workshop to ensure the individual candidate demonstrates the relevant technical knowledge and ability.

Please note there is no age limit on applications for this role, however due to funding restrictions candidates who are degree holders (level 5 or above qualification) are unable to apply. North Wales Police are a bilingual organisation and for this role, you’ll need to demonstrate Level 2 Welsh on joining and achieve level 3 during your apprenticeship.
