An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Heddlu Dyfed-Powys Police as a Business Support Apprentice in the Local Investigation Unit, Newtown, Powys.

Who are Heddlu Dyfed- Powys Police?

We are the largest geographical police force in England and Wales, proudly serving the communities of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and Powys. The population we serve may be small in numbers (around 515,000 people) but the dynamic landscape means we must be innovative with our policing approach to cater for our communities differing needs, which includes a vibrant tourist economy during the summer months.

What you will be doing?

Role specific Tasks

  • To undertake administrative tasks in support of the Powys LIU Dept, including data collection and review from wide ranging sources, creation of admissible evidential material and assisting with enquiries.
  • To create and provide additional copies of digital and documentary evidence as required by investigators, managers, and the Crown Prosecution Service.
  • To progress administrative taskings timely and appropriately in accordance with departmental procedures and CPS guidelines.
  • To review and conduct quality checks in relation to General Data Regulations Procedures (GDPR) and ensure data breaches do not occur from work generated.

Qualification

As part of this role, you will work towards attaining Business Administration Level 3 Qualification. All training and support will be provided in conjunction with a local college.

Fixed post

This role requires the postholder to work from a set place/location due to the nature of the work or the systems and equipment needed. Even though this role is not deemed suitable for regular home or agile working, more flexible ways of working can be considered on occasion, and where operational commitments allow.

For example, to participate in a meeting or training course being held in a different location, under Smarter Working principles, organisers should ensure there are fair opportunities for virtual attendance wherever possible.
