The post holder will have the responsibility for managing a cohort of Sex and Dangerous Offenders who are identified as high risk of harm offenders or those likely to cause harm to victims in our communities. 

The role will include the gathering, co-ordination and linking of intelligence along with working in partnership to manage risk, and various statutory risk management responsibilities for managing categorised offenders.

By utilising a wide range of tactics, legislation and powers the post holder will build effective working relationships with relevant external agencies to mutually exchange information, work in partnership with other departments and agencies to ensure that risk of harm and risk of re-offending are proactively and effectively managed.  

Post holders will deliver and co-ordinate delivery of a combination of support, prevention, diversionary tactics and enforcement through a range of criminal justice sanctions and other interventions.

The post holder will develop and identify best practice in sex & violent offender management, and will engage with identified offenders supporting existing management arrangements.   

The post holder will be based at Pontypridd Police station and will manage offenders from across the whole of the Mid Glamorgan BCU

The successful candidates must be willing to undertake statutory training whilst in role in the use of a dedicated national computer system, disclosure and use of Risk Management tools in order to perform the role.

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.

This role is suitable for part time/job share workers.

Please be aware that if your current post is within the Public Service Centre, if you were employed after 1st February 2017 you must have completed 2 years’ tenured service before applying for any other roles.
