Case Management Officer

The Professional Standards Department (PSD) deals with public complaints and internal conduct issues within policing.
Opportunities have arisen for 2 permanent Case Management Officers (CMO’s).

• Please note, 1 vacancy is Part Time (3 days / 22 hours), and the 2nd vacancy is Full Time.
• Applicants are asked to please specify within their form whether they are applying for the Full Time post only, the Part Time post only, or would be willing to accept either post if successful.

CMO’s have a broad range of duties which include researching complex and sensitive allegations against police. Further, they will contact members of the community and members of the police service to establish the facts and try to resolve issues. Other primary elements of CMO work include administrating cases which have been allocated to other departments within South Wales Police, advising on handling and resolving issues where they arise.

Attention to detail, diligent application of statutory guidance, plus the ability to manage a complex and demanding workload are key attributes for a CMO. Further, a high standard of written work and the ability to work flexibly as a part of a busy (but supportive) team would be considered essential.

This role is suitable for part time/job share workers due to operational requirements.

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.

Please be aware that if your current post is within the Public Service Centre, if you were employed after 1st February 2017 you must have completed 2 years’ tenured service before applying for any other roles.
