GRADE: PO 1/2  - £34,326.00 - £39,183.00

BASED AT: Bridgend Headquarters. (However flexible and agile working is in place)

REPORTING TO: Strategic Lead Victims and Vulnerability

HOURS: 37 per week full time

TENURE: Permanent

VETTING: MV/SC

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the work of the South Wales Police and Crime Commissioners Victims and Vulnerability Team.  

We are seeking an experienced Policy Officer to join the Victims and Vulnerability portfolio team; we are looking to offer a Policy Officer role on a permanent basis. The successful applicant will be required to work with other team members to support the Strategic Lead in developing and implementing policy, and delivering the outcomes identified in the Police and Crime Plan, the Violence against Women and Girls and the Victims and Witnesses Strategies.

Developing and maintaining strong relationships with partners will be a key aspect of the role to deliver more effective, collaborative ways of working and identifying best practice. The ability to identify proactive opportunities to create partnerships and maintaining and strong links across both the public and third sectors will be a priority for the post holder.  

You will need to be a team player who is self-motivated and able to use their initiative and a confident communicator and possess excellent networking and influencing skills. The ability to adapt and prioritise competing demands, adopt a solution focused approach, and meet deadlines will be essential requirements of the post holder.

Reporting directly to the Strategic Lead for Victims and Vulnerability the successful candidate will be required to liaise regularly with a variety of key stakeholders, to support the work of the team, supporting work at the local, regional and national level.
