Based within the Regional Economic Crime Unit, this role is an opportunity to undertake proactive and reactive financial investigations as defined within the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, in order to disrupt the activities of Organised Crime Groups and confiscate assets gained through criminal conduct. You will also give advice, guidance and direction to police forces in the use of asset confiscation as a proactive tool in fighting crime. 

Applicants must be accredited with the NCA to at least FIO level, or  prepared to undertake and successfully complete the National Financial Investigation training program to Confiscator level. This includes the upkeep of a Continuous Development Portfolio. 

The successful applicant(s) must have experience of dealing with criminal investigations and knowledge of PoCA 2002 legislation and the confiscation regime.  A knowledge of the Fraud Act 2006 would also be desirable.

Successful applicants working within the Regional Organised Crime Unit Wales will be subject to Management Vetting and enhanced SC Vetting prior to taking up post.

This role is not suitable for part time/job share workers due to operational requirements.

Please be aware that if your current post is within the Public Service Centre, if you were employed after 1st February 2017 you must have completed 2 years’ tenured service before applying for any other roles.
