South Wales Police are looking for a dynamic and skilled technology professional to lead a team of experts in developing, implementing, and administering 24/7 network support for a large-scale enterprise infrastructure.

As the Devices Manager, you will be at the forefront of ensuring business continuity for critical emergency services through the implementation of cutting-edge technology solutions. With the use of standardised methodology and frameworks, you will be delivering technology that is not only reliable, but also secure.

You will also have the opportunity to provide specialist advice to senior management on technology solutions and trends and play a key role in the decision-making process for the Department’s technology strategy.

Responsibilities:

•    Oversee team management and lead development including:
o    Day-to day ICT Support including Problem, Change and Coordination
o    3rd line responsibility for designated technical functions (below) including management of 2nd line technical staff.
•    Provide a Technical Lead on the following functions:
o    ICT Device Management.
o    ICT Device Technology.
o    ICT Operations Management,

Requirements: 

•    Must possess a relevant degree or other significant ICT related qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and abilities.
•    Proven experience of design, implementation, and team management within a similar environment. 
•    Experience in providing large-scale service support from 2nd to 1st line as well as technical planning, scheduling, and co-ordination.
•    Experience in providing technical management as part of a formal project at infrastructure level and demonstrate the ability to apply strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of emerging technologies.
•    Must have experience of device security hardware and software inclusive of group policies, patching, anti-virus and local firewalls.

Where you’ll fit in:
 

The Devices Manager sits within the Technical Delivery section of the ICT department and reports to the ICT Infrastructure Manager or ICT Platforms Manager.
