This role is an exciting opportunity to work within the Police Liaison Unit (PLU), representing and supporting policing across Wales. The PLU works to the four Chief Constables and four Police and Crime Commissioners in Wales, strengthening links with the Welsh and UK Governments along with other key criminal justice stakeholders.


In this new role you will support the Head of the PLU in collating, analysing and presenting data to inform policy development and evidence based decision making. You will research emerging policy approaches in policing and criminal justice in jurisdictions in the UK and overseas, highlighting innovative practice and making recommendations for change. You will also be involved in preparing briefings and papers for the Welsh Chief Officers Group, Policing in Wales Group and Policing Partnership Board for Wales.


Although the primary work base for this role is the PLU Office within the Welsh Government offices at Cathays Park, Cardiff, the role is suitable for remote/agile working. On this basis, applications are welcomed from candidates from all parts of Wales.


This role is suitable for part time/job share workers


The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV Vetting.
