An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Communications Officer to join the Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) in Bridgend.

ROCUs form a critical part of the national policing network, providing a range of specialist policing capabilities to forces which help them to tackle serious and organised crime effectively. 

We are seeking to recruit a Regional Communications Officer to deliver effective communications activity to promote and support our Cyber and Economic Crime Units.

The role will require the applicant to create engaging content including copy, pictures and videos to use across internal and external channels, ensuring the most appropriate channels are used for the message and target audience. The applicant will support national campaigns, and develop their own campaigns for our units, based on current threat priorities. They will accompany our engagement teams on visits to conventions, businesses, schools and universities, to get coverage of the events and assist with feedback gathering.

The successful candidate will hold an academic or professional qualification in media studies, public relations, journalism or related subject e.g. CAM, CIM, NCTJ. They will have excellent writing skills for a variety of mediums and a proven ability to plan, prioritise, and implement communications activity, seeing the work through to completion and effective evaluation. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of digital channel management and development.

We are looking for a team player who also has the motivation to work independently and the ability to think on their feet. Someone who is creatively minded, and confident engaging with officers and staff of a variety of ranks and grades across the organisation.

This is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2026.
