This all Wales Lead is an exciting and new role will provide overall leadership and direction for the development of drug and alcohol strategy at a National level, ensuring that across the 4 Police Forces and 4 Police and Crime Commissioners strategic and operational policy direction in Wales is joined up, effective and innovative. The role will be in place to support the strengthening of the overall response to drugs across Wales, reducing harm and associated violence to individuals and communities.  

The role will be responsible for setting of strategy on an all-Wales basis, setting priorities, developing and managing projects and commissioning activity. Working across the drug National partnership landscape, reporting into the National Implementation Board for Drug poisoning, the Policing in Wales Board and the Policing and Partnership Board for Wales. It will provide an opportunity to influence at a senior level and be key in the ambition to be transformative and ambitious in Wales. 

In partnership it will involve building an infrastructure and oversight of the programme of work in Wales to deliver effective treatment systems and enable the delivery of priorities and outcomes intended to produce positive public health outcomes from the 4 Police Forces and 4 Police and Crime Commissioner’s commissioned services.

The ability to speak Welsh is an advantage but is not considered essential.
