The Digital Services Department serves both Gwent and South Wales Police and is charged with improving our services through the application of technology. Our team is responsible for making the process of policing more efficient, effective, and better through the introduction of digital technology. This busy department covers all the main digital programmes in the force from Facial Recognition Technology to Bespoke Application Systems, Digital Interviews and Fleet Telematics to name but a few. 

The eServices Senior Developer post is based in our in-house Research and Development team and will provide the opportunity for applicants to lead in the Software Development Lifecycle for a series of real-life challenges facing the South Wales and Gwent forces. 

The team primarily rely on the Microsoft stack to develop solutions (C#, .Net Core, Xamarin, SQL server, Azure) and use DevOps to manage the working process.

Candidates who have skills and experience in mentoring and developing less experienced software developers would be particularly welcome.

This role is suitable for part time/job share workers 

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
