Police Staff – Cyber Security Advisor, Specialist Crime

 

Applications are invited for the newly established post for a Cyber Crime Protect Advisor. The objectives of this role are 

To reduce the overall impact from Cybercrime in the South Wales Police area, empowering the community by making it aware of the risks, threats and impact of Cybercrime and how they might mitigate them. Delivering a wide range of cyber security initiatives incorporating technological security solutions, mitigation, user behaviour and incident response, to empower organisations to protect themselves, increasing resilience across all sectors of industry and society.

Protect team members will work in close partnership with public and private sector organisations to encourage ‘secure by design’ infrastructure to safeguard UK business against Cybercrime.

To prepare and convey presentations in front of live audiences to share experience or advice/guidance as appropriate.

To work with partners, for example Get Safe Online / Cyber Aware to deliver online safety/ Cyber Security messages through a variety of online and offline mediums

To play a critical role in developing a nationally networked capability, targeting a significant and rapidly evolving threat to the UK, whilst ensuring timely and authoritative messaging is delivered across the Region.

This role is not suitable for job share/part time working due to the size of the team and need to continuity and costs of staff.

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting
