About the team/Department you will be joining:
• We are a professional, committed, inclusive and engaging team working within the Force Intelligence Economic and Cyber Crime Unit.
• We are based at locations throughout the force including Bridgend, Pontypridd, Neath and Fairwater (Cardiff) and from home in line with the South Wales Police smarter working policy.
• Our team works a flexible working pattern amounting to 37hrs per week mainly Monday - Friday though we do sometimes support activity on the weekend and evenings.
About the role and your key responsibilities:
• The primary function of the Intelligence Analyst Team Leader is to manage a team of analysts and researchers. The team leader is responsible for the quality assurance of analytical products, and for the supervision, performance and development of their team. In addition to this, they must also be capable of carrying out all responsibilities of an Intelligence Analyst.
• Manage performance of the team and prioritise day to day work, assessing the requirements of customers whilst balancing the wellbeing of the team.
• Act as a point of contact and gatekeeper for analytical work from specialist units and Senior Police Officers / Staff and provide advice and guidance on varied and complex areas of police work. They must have the ability to resolve complex problems independently whilst maintaining confidentiality but also have the confidence to escalate issues to senior colleagues.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
• They must be able to communicate at all levels (speaking clearly, asking concise questions and actively listening to the views of others). They must possess excellent presentation skills, effective interpersonal skills and possess the ability to motivate others to perform at the highest levels.
• Must be an effective leader able to influence, control and retain the commitment of staff creating a supportive environment, encouraging self-motivation and objectively monitoring & appraising strengths and weaknesses of individuals and the team.
• The post holder must be able to demonstrate a high level of computer literacy in Microsoft 365 (particularly in Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and be capable of carrying out complex manipulation of data, producing and assuring the excellence of high quality, comprehensive, logical and structured reports.

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
